Allan Atkinson Obituary, Stalwart of the Action Records in Preston, Lancashire has died

Allan Atkinson Obituary,  Death – Allan Atkinson, one of my best friends and a colleague in business, departed this world early on Saturday morning following a brief brush with illness that he had been fighting for some time. He had been battling this illness for some time. He had been fighting sickness for a number of years at that point. I say this to you with a heavy heart, but I have no choice but to tell you the terrible news since I have no other option. I am truly sorry. He had a life free of any suffering or misery of any kind, and he died without ever having to endure any of it.

During this difficult time, Pat, his wife and children, as well as all of Pat’s other loved ones and close friends, are in our thoughts and prayers. Also included in our thoughts and prayers are Pat’s extended family and friends. We are keeping Pat’s extended family as well as his friends in our thoughts and prayers at this time. My first encounter with Allan was in 1973, and it took place at the venue in Blackburn where Hawkwind were performing. We were both waiting for a bus that would take us back to Blackburn from there. I had had completed watching Hawkwind perform at the venue in Blackburn where they were performing.

At the time, they were there. As soon as that took occurred, we immediately started talking to one another and expanding our familiarity with one another through our conversations. Since then, there has been absolutely no weakening of our friendship in any way, and it remains just as strong as it was before. I would never have been able to launch Action Records or keep it running successfully for all of these years if it weren’t for his guidance and his tremendous musical grasp. These two aspects are of the utmost significance to take into account. Before he left, his towering presence was a vital component of the business due to the way that it affected the mood of the shop, and it will continue to be an essential component even after he has gone. We just can’t seem to get our brains around the notion that he is not here with us in the same physical capacity that he was before.
