Bill Clark Obituary, Death – Bill L. Clark, proprietor of Bill Clark Pest Control for many years and a significant contributor to the expansion of the pest control profession in Texas, passed away recently. The pest control industry is in mourning over his passing. Clark passed away on November 18th, and he was 89 years old. Clark served in the United States Navy for several years before using the GI Bill to pay for his education at Texas A&M University, where he earned a degree in entomology after concentrating on the study of insects. Bill Clark Pest Control was established in 1957 in the city of Beaumont in the state of Texas by Clark and his company partner Don Stroope. 1965 was the year that Clark became the sole proprietor of the business.

In the beginning, Clark would sell throughout the morning, then change into his job clothes so that he could serve customers in the afternoon and evening. Bill Clark Pest Control became the largest pest control company in Southeast Texas under Clark’s leadership. The company serves the Beaumont, Port Arthur, and Orange areas in addition to the Lakes region and all the way down to Bolivar Peninsula. Clark maintained close ties to Texas A&M University, participating in fund-raising efforts for university construction projects and scholarship programs, assisting the university’s entomology program with field research, and hiring multiple A&M alumni. When he was inducted into the Texas A&M Legacy Society, he received recognition for the numerous contributions he had made over the years.

Longtime worker Josh Smith and his wife, Sarah, bought the business from its previous owner, Clark, in 2018. This allowed the company to continue operating in the same location and to maintain its strong roots in the community. Casey Clark, his wife of 53 years, his daughters Shannon Clark, Shawn Abbott, Jonna Clark (Brad Mitchell), and Cullen Clark Lutz (John Lutz), his son Wm. Chase Clark (Amy Clark), his grandsons Taylor Abbott, Layton Lutz, and Benjamin Clark, his granddaughters Olivia Lutz, Ellie Clark, and Annabelle Clark, his sister Shirley Simpson, and his brother Jerry Clark are among the people who survive Bill. In lieu of sending flowers, Bill’s family requests that memorial contributions be made in his name to any organization of your choosing.
