Bob Dockerty Obituary, Larkins Brewery founder Bob Dockerty has died

Bob Dockerty Obituary, Death –  Bob Dockerty laid the groundwork for what would later become Larkins Brewery at Chiddingstone, Edenbridge, in the year 1986. In this location, he holds a party to commemorate the occasion of the event’s 35th anniversary. On the Kentish Brewers and the Brewers of Kent Facebook page, friends and colleagues recalled him as a “wonderful man and outstanding brewer,” and they referred to his demise as a “major loss.” Pictured: The Larkins Brewery One said: “I have known Bob for almost seven decades, through good times and bad, and he is an amazing person who would help anyone without giving it a second thought.

I have known him through thick and thin. He was a genuine friend who will be very challenging to replace in any capacity, from the spectacular parties that would last until the wee hours of the morning to the financial support he offered for my racing career.” A further participant added their two cents by describing the speaker as “a true English brewer and huge believer of traditional cask ales including his own hop garden.” In October of 1986, Mr. Dockerty, who at the time was both a commercial hop farmer and an avid home brewer, started the brewery in the Hampkins Hill Road neighborhood.

He was the driving force behind the resurrection of “farm brewing,” which is responsible for the success of the hundreds of microbreweries that have developed all over Britain in the last ten years. This success has been attributed to the success of “farm brewing.” Hops were historically grown on the farm, but ironically, he had to give up that practice so that he could focus all of his time and effort on getting the brewery off the ground.
