Cameron Jackson Obituary, Death – A second child has died after a shooting on Saturday near Atlanta’s Atlantic Station. When it occurred on 17th Street, a group of young people were removed from the premises of Atlantic Station; shortly after, the group got into a fight and shots were fired on the 17th Street bridge. In addition to the 12-year-old who was killed, five other persons were injured. Cameron Jackson, 15, was identified as the second shooting victim on Wednesday after the Fulton County Medical Examiner confirmed his death on Tuesday. Atlanta News First spoke to Cameron’s mother Tiffany Smith shortly after the announcement on Wednesday in the afternoon.

“At the age of nine, Cameron started boxing and was on the road to a professional boxing career. He trained with a professional boxing coach five days per week. We even worked on a campaign dubbed “bikes up guns down” to help stop young people from using weapons and engaging in violent behavior. He enjoyed science, math, cooking, and riding dirt motorcycles. He loved his dad and his family as well. Atlanta News First has stated that Smith has admitted to homeschooling her child. On Wednesday afternoon, Atlanta Police released footage from the night of the shooting. Both the male wearing the blue hoodie with white writing on the front and the male wearing the yellow and black hoodie are reportedly suspects in the inquiry.
According to the police, anyone who provides information that results in an arrest is eligible to receive a $10,000 Crime Stoppers reward.

A 12-year-old child was allegedly shot and murdered on Saturday night at Atlantic Station in Atlanta, according to a family from the metro Atlanta area. The family says they are “torn up right now.” At a press conference held on Sunday afternoon, Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and Chief Darin Schierbaum discussed the weekend’s deadly and violent events in Atlantic Station. Before the shooting, according to police, Atlantic Station staff and off-duty Atlanta police officers led a group of youths from the site. The gang then dispersed to 17th Street close to the Interstate 75 overpass, where authorities claim a fight broke out at 8 o’clock in the evening. Police said that the argument turned violent, resulting in one death and five injuries on the 17th Street bridge from gunfire.

The 12-year-old gunshot victim has been named as Zyion Charles, according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner, who spoke to Atlanta News First. Sandra Durden, Zyion Charles’ grandmother, stated, “We’re ripped up right now because you can never fathom a 12-year-old losing his life to senseless gun murder.” It might have been prevented. Along with the ten security officers who were present at Atlantic Station last night, there were 26 policemen from the Atlanta Police Department working here. “Despite the police presence and everything we have done, this tragedy nevertheless took place,” stated Mayor Andre Dickens. The victims of the shooting, according to Mayor Dickens, went to schools all around metro Atlanta.
