Carl L. White Obituary, Death –  After a long and courageous fight with cancer, Carl L. White Sr., age 74, of Warren, Illinois, passed away on November 20th, 2022 in the comfort of his own home, surrounded by his family. In Chicago, Illinois, on September 4th, 1948, Carl White was brought into the world by his parents, Harley and Dovie White Sr. Carl served his country honorably in the Army of the United States. Between the months of December 1967 and September 1968, he was stationed in the Republic of Vietnam as a member of Charlie Troop, 2nd Platoon on 27 Tank, 3rd Squadron of the 5th Calvary Black Knights. He was honored with both a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star with Valor for his bravery during the conflict. Carl was Black Knights Association life member number 170 during his time with the organization.

On June 28, 1969, not long after he got back from serving in the military, he tied the knot with Susan Mielke. They were blessed with three sons: Carl Jr., Christopher, and Daniel thanks to their union. The wedding took place on October 21st, 1983, between Carl and Dorathy Schultz. They raised their three children in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, where they resided together, and their names are Mitch, Jared, and Ian. He started his lifetime love business, C & D Lawn Care, while he was living in Glen Ellyn. Winslow, Illinois became home for Carl, Dorathy, and the couple’s three children after the family relocated there in 1996. Carl was known to have been a generous and good-natured individual who made an impact on the lives of many.

His 1963 Ford Thunderbird was the most valued asset he owned. Tuning in to WWE’s Monday Night Smack Down and spending time with his grandchildren were two of his favorite things to do in his spare time. Carl is survived by his wife, Dorathy, who resides in Warren, Illinois; six sons, Carl Jr. (Kaye) of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, Christopher of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Daniel (Jenny) of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Mitch (Sabrina) of McConnell, Illinois, Jared (Abby) of Darlington, Wisconsin, and Ian (Ashleigh) of Cedarville, Illinois; 15 grandchildren and one more on the His parents, foster parents Wallace and Wilhemia Copeland, siblings William and Harley Jr., and special friends Robert Frey and Roger Chapman all passed away before him. He was the last surviving member of his family.

On Sunday, November 27th, 2022, there will be a visitation at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren, Illinois, from 2:00 until 4:00 o’clock in the afternoon. Following the conclusion of the visitation, there will be a service of the rosary held. At the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Stockton, Illinois, a funeral mass is scheduled to take place on November 28th, 2022, at 11:00 in the morning. The ceremony will be presided over by Father Michael Morrissey, if you were wondering. Rituals associated with cremation have been performed. Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Stockton, Illinois will be the location of the interment following the funeral. In his honor, a memorial has been created that will benefit both the Black Knights Association and the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
