Carlo Anzelmo was a beloved member of both communities. Carlo Anzelmo was a well-liked and respected member of each of these institutions. Mr. Anzelmo was a much-loved long-time volunteer at the Virginia, where he could frequently be found with his wife, Peggy, guiding guests to their seats in Aisle 4 on the main floor. This was one of Mr. Anzelmo’s favorite things about volunteering at the Virginia.

Carlo was tremendously well-liked by people of all ages as he always greeted everybody who entered his shop in a courteous and true manner and never missed a chance to aid someone who was in need of assistance. Because Carlo and Peggy have both spent a large amount of time and effort over the course of several decades at the theatre, they are held in great regard not only at the Virginia but also across the entirety of Champaign-Urbana.

Our sympathies are with Carlo’s family today as we grieve the loss of a cherished friend and an example of a joyful life that was lived abundantly in service to his community. Carlo’s life was a template of how one should spend one’s life. He exemplified the way a life ought to be led and was a model for others to follow.
