Carrie Allison-Folga Obituary, Death – Carrie Allison-Folga, 40, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 12, 2022. Carrie was an amazing mother to her son Dominic and a wonderful wife to Kevin. Her mother, Lee Allison, as well as her brothers Andrew Jones and Dominic Jr. Mattivi, survive her. Carrie grew up in San Clemente, California, with Lee, Kenny, and Andy. Before moving to Ridgway County, they all enjoyed going to the beach. She was the family’s heart, our caregiver, and our peacemaker. Carrie was well-known in Ridgway, CO, where she greeted customers with a warm smile and ice cream on the back porch, and she always showed her love, support, and kindness to everyone who walked through the door.
Being a wife, daughter, sister, and cousin were her greatest joys in life, but being a mother was her most pure gift and calling. During their first embrace, her connection with her son Dominic was immediately captured. His unexpected but permanent entrance into her life. As a mother, she gave her all, never lacking grace, kindness, compassion, or unconditional love. Dominic was her entire world and an endless source of happiness. They arrived at the same time, and she was his tour guide.
Carrie made certain that he learned everything he could about his family, how to love animals, and, most importantly, how to laugh. She made certain he spent as much time as possible with his grandmothers, grandfathers, aunts, uncles, cousins, and best friend, Grandfather Dominic. She nurtured his wit, sass, curiosity, tender heart, eagerness to learn, and zest for life. Carrie traveled with Kevin and Dominic to Hawaii, Denver, France, California, Disneyland, Arizona, Minnesota, and various Colorado mini-adventures.
Carrie’s entire world revolved around her unwavering love and concern for her family. Her ray of sunshine will be missed for the rest of time, and the world will be a darker place without her. She was a special member of both our family and our community. Carrie is no longer physically present with us, but we know she is watching over and guiding us. A memorial service will be held at Grace Community Church, 16731 Woodgate Rd., Montrose, CO, on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Instead of flowers, donations in memory of Carrie Allison-Folga should be made to the Dominic Charles Trust Fund.
