Catheryne Santos Obituary – Catheryne Jeanne Santos, of Maumelle, Arkansas, came to an end. Richard and Donna Porter welcomed her into the world in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Catheryne attended the Charleston County Public Schools in South Carolina, where she received her education. She graduated from West Ashley High School and participated in the volleyball and running teams there. She won the state discus championship for South Carolina Cat made the decision to enroll at Clemson University, where she competed in the hammer and discus events for the Division 1 track team for four years. She loved every minute she spent at Clemson University.
Her blood ran orange, and she made lots of pals. After earning her degree from Clemson she started her teaching and coaching jobs in Charleston, where she worked with gifted and talented as well as Title 1 kids. She had the chance to visit China as part of the gifted and talented program and work with kids in an enrichment program, where she discovered that all kids are the same. She had the honor of working with kids from 5 to 12 years old throughout this period. She continued on to earn her master’s in physical education from the Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina.
Cat has many travels both domestically and abroad because she loved God’s creation. To name a few places she visited, including Germany, Scotland, Finland, England, China, Hong Kong, and Japan. The cat would meet the love of her life, Gee, at Palmetto Bible Camp in South Carolina, where they were both working as counselors, during one of her excursions. It was there that Gee first noticed Cat wearing her heart-shaped sunglasses, and it was also where she would find her true love. On December 30, 2021, Gee and Cat would marry close to the camp where they had first met after dating for three years.
Gee teaches Spanish and Bible at Central Arkansas Christian, and Cat teaches fifth grade at the PV Campus. Gee and Cat’s vocation in education brought them to the state of Arkansas. She received a lot of support and inspiration from the CAC community in Arkansas, especially from her class.
