Charles Beagle Obituary, Charles Beagle Has sadly Passed Away

Charles Beagle Obituary, Death -Dr. Charles “Chuck” Beegle, 94, of Charlottesville, Virginia, died at Brookhill Farm on August 19, 2022. He was born in Charleston, West Virginia, to Sara G. Beegle and Charles Beegle. His wife, Jean (Rittenour) Beegle, his brother, Bob, and his sister, Betty, predeceased him (Carl) Chuck and Jean relocated to Charlottesville, Virginia, after Chuck received his Ph.D. from Ohio State University. Because of their love for their children, they were able to succeed and prosper throughout their lives. Charles recognized each child’s unique personality and encouraged each to develop a unique identity expressed through a variety of gifts and talents.

He hunted in tree stands with Brooks, rode with Lynne at fox hunts, races, and other equestrian events, and praised Christina’s vocal performances at Ash-lawn Highland. Charles and his family spent many years working on the farm and hunting foxes with the Farmington Hunt Club. Delicious meals and delightful conversation around his dining room table, which was always welcoming and hospitable, entertained many students, coworkers, friends, family, visitors, and acquaintances. Over the years, his generosity extended to the farm’s many horses and dogs.

Brooks (Jaci) Beegle, Lynne (Mark) Gebhard, and Christina (Casimir) Saternos will remember him as a devoted father; a devoted grandfather to Aspen, Lacy, and Linden Beegle and Clara, Charles, Caleb, and Charlotte Saternos; and a cherished uncle to Chip (Angelique) Smith, Kyle (Pam) Smith, Christie Bolendar, Kerry (Laura) Smith, Susie (John) Thank you for providing home health care, Dr. Stokes and Bill Wood. A memorial service will be held at the Farmington Hunt Club on May 19, 2023.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the 4-H Club at National 4-H Council Contributions, P.O. Box 69364, Baltimore, MD 21264-9364 or the Galion Community Foundation, P.O. Box 634, Galion, OH 44833, both of which are designated for the Sara Beegle Child Care Center, which was founded by Dr. Beegle’s mother. Daily Progress was published on September 7, 2022.
