Craig Lowe Obituary, Death – Craig Lowe, owner of Lowe Painting in Mississauga, Ontario, who was a regular on Mike Holmes’ television shows and who also managed the TV star’s Holmes Referred certified contractor program, passed away on August 2 while scuba diving in Asby Bay, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Lowe had appeared on Holmes’ shows. After reportedly diving with others earlier in the day, Lowe, 41, was last seen going out on his own for a dive on his own on Saturday night. He has not been seen or heard from since. His body was discovered three hundred meters off the coast, in close proximity to his boat.
According to the reports, the site of the dives was the location of a well-known shipwreck from the 18th century, and it may contain treasure that has not yet been discovered. Lowe was a skilled scuba diver who was remembered as a “treasure hunter, lover of life, and passionate adventure seeker” on the website of his company, which is where a tribute was posted in his honor. A coroner’s inquest in Halifax was going to center on the specific cause of his death, which was that he was diving in shallow water that was only about 4 meters deep, according to the reports.
Lowe was featured in an article about the launch of the Holmes Referred program that appeared in the Spring 2013 issue of Pro Painter, which is the sister publication of Canadian Contractor. During the course of the interview, Lowe was in the process of enrolling the first group of contractors in the program, the majority of whom were painters. At the same time, he continued to be the owner and operator of Lowe Painting, a business that he had been running with a great deal of success for over twenty years.
During the interview, Lowe spoke enthusiastically about the reasons why he loved the painting business, how he had followed in the footsteps of his mother (she was a decorator), and how much he enjoyed training painters on techniques, business skills, and – most importantly – exceptional customer service. Lowe’s mother was a decorator, and Lowe had followed in her footsteps.
In a statement, Mike Holmes said, “I have been working with Craig since the very first day of the Holmes on Holmes television show.” He was a man who was always willing to lend a helping hand and was known for his generosity, dedication, and talent. His wife, Kaley, and their four children will carry on his legacy after his passing.
