She also has a nephew, ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and one great, great-granddaughter. Elvira, who was affectionately known as “La Dona,” was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter. She was also known by this nickname. She was known for her diligence in the workplace throughout her many years spent working at Edinburg Manufacturing (Haggar Slacks).

She was a member of the choirs at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Holy Family Catholic Church, and St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was frequently asked to preside over rosaries because she was such a respected member of the local Catholic community. Dalia Vela, the staff at the McAllen Transitional Care Center, and the hospice nurses at Allstate Hospice all deserve our sincere gratitude for the care that they provided over the past few weeks. Her family, her friends, and everyone else whose life she touched will grievously miss her after she passes away.
