Eric Lerhe Obituary, Death – The Honorable Commander Eric James Lerhe, OMM, MSC, CD, PhD On the 21st of November, Ret’d passed away in Halifax under mysterious circumstances. Eric was a naval officer who belonged to a generation that had a genuine love for the Navy, and he was deeply committed to the Service as well as to Canada right up until the end of his life. after a few months of steadily deteriorating health Eric passed away. He had been a naval officer for quite some time. He had a successful career, during which he commanded the Royal Canadian Navy ships SAGUENAY and NIPIGON, as well as the Canadian Forces Maritime Warfare Centre and Canada’s Pacific Fleet. Additionally, he was awarded the Order of Military Merit in the Order of Canada.
