Erina Simmonds Obituary, Marching Auckland Life Member Has Died

Erina Simmonds Obituary, Death – The news of the passing of Marching Auckland Life Member Erina Simmonds is something that we are communicating to the rest of our marching community at this time. This decision was made with a great deal of regret and a heavy feeling in our hearts. Erina put up a brave fight against her illness right up until the day before last Sunday when she passed away in spite of her best efforts. She was surrounded by her devoted husband, daughter, and granddaughter as she passed away, and they provided her with loving companionship until the end.

Erina’s parents, Lyn and Moana Morey have been active members of the Marching Auckland Committee for a significant amount of time and have contributed both their time and energy to the organization in a variety of roles over the course of those years. The fact that they did this demonstrates their loyalty and dedication to the organization. Erina has demonstrated that it is true that “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” by following in the footsteps of both her parents and grandparents.

Erina made significant contributions to our Association in a variety of different ways, and in her role as Chief Recorder, she was actively involved in competitions right up until the end of the previous season. Erina also served as Chief Recorder for our Association during the previous season. Erina exuded a genuine enthusiasm not only for our team but also for the community culture that revolved around it.
After she passes away, we are all going to miss her in a significant way.

The family of Erina, including her husband Geoff, her daughters Kylie and Grace, her granddaughter Coi-Manea, and her new grandson, who was born the morning she passed away and whom she was able to see for a short time, are in our thoughts and prayers. In addition, the extended Morey family is in our thoughts and prayers as we continue to think about and pray for them.
