Frank Vinson Obituary, Death – The Knoxville Police Department has identified Frank Vinson, 49, a resident of Knoxville, as the person who was shot and killed on Wednesday in Park City. In a press release, a spokesperson for the police department stated that an investigation into the shooting is still ongoing while also stating that Vinson’s death was discovered to be the result of an apparent gunshot wound. On Wednesday morning, around 2:00 a.m., a spokesperson for the police department stated in a press release that officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of East Fifth Avenue in response to a shooting that had taken place outside of a residence.

The press release states that witnesses heard multiple gunshots and then saw multiple people running away from the scene of the shooting after the shots were fired. A short time later, a black Ford sedan drove up to the University of Tennessee Medical Center and dropped off a man who had a gunshot wound that was not considered to be life-threatening. The sedan then drove away from the hospital. After receiving medical attention for his wound, the man was allowed to go free.

Later, when deputies from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office located the sedan, they found another man inside with injuries that were not deemed to be life-threatening. The man’s injuries were discovered by the deputies. He was taken by ambulance to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. At this time, there is no known suspect in connection with this case. According to the press release, members of the KPD’s Violent Crimes Unit are currently conducting interviews with potential witnesses as part of their investigation.
