Greg Suszczenia Obituary, Greg Suszczenia has passed away unexpectedly

Greg Suszczenia Obituary, Death –  Greg Suszczenia, who had previously served as the joint MD and trading director of Parfetts and passed away over the weekend, has been remembered with tributes. In November of 2021, Suszczenia received the news that he had a brain tumor of stage four glioblastoma. As a result, he decided to retire in order to focus on his treatment for the disease. During the last few months of his life, he devoted his time and energy to supporting The Brain Tumor Charity. As a result, he was able to raise more than £33,000 to support research into treatments and cures for brain tumors. Suszczenia was given a standing ovation in March when he was presented with the Outstanding Achievement award at the Unitas Wholesale annual member awards in recognition of the significant contributions he has made to the business.

In 1998, he started working for Parfitt’s in the capacity of general manager, but he left the company in 2004 to launch Greenhill Retail, a company that he co-owns with his wife, Bev. In 2009, he made his way back to Parfetts in the capacity of trade director, during which time he was instrumental in the growth of the Go Local brand. In 2014, he was promoted to the position of joint managing director of the company, during which time he assisted in driving Parfitt’s’ transformation from a local cash and carry firm to a nationwide employee-owned wholesaler. Guy Swindell, who is jointly the managing director of Parfetts, took the lead in delivering the tributes to Suszczenia.

According to what he had to say, “Greg was a dedicated colleague who will be remembered with affection by everyone at Parfitt’s.” “He had a passion for the industry that was obvious to everyone he encountered, and he led Parfetts through a period of sustained expansion at that time.” After a long and successful career in the sector, which included stints as a buyer, depot manager, trading director, and joint MD at Parfetts, he retired the previous year. Greg was a member of the Unitas board of directors in addition to helping to supervise the company’s successful transition from being a family-owned corporation to one that is owned by its employees. He was a well-known and well-respected figure in the wholesale industry. Our hearts go out to his wife, Bev, and their two kids, Michael and Kristian. Please accept our sympathies.

Steve Parfett, the founder of Parfetts and a former chairman of the company, stated that “it was an honor to employ and work with Greg during his two stints with Parfitt’s.” He picked up new skills quickly and was always looking for challenging new chances, which helped him excel in his roles as a buyer and depot manager. When Bill Pace decided to retire, it was a stroke of good luck that we were able to convince Greg to continue in his role as trading director. “In this job, and more recently as joint MD, in my judgment he was on par with the very best that the industry has to offer. The Parfett family will be grateful to Greg for the great contribution he made during the time when the business was owned by the family and, more recently, by employees.

“His loss at such a young age is a huge tragedy not only for his wife Bev and his boys, but also for colleagues in both Parfetts and the wider industry who held him in great affection.” “His loss at such a young age is a huge tragedy for his wife Bev and his boys.” Unitas MD John Kinney said the following about Greg: “Greg was a passionate wholesaler whom I had great regard for, having had the privilege of getting to know and work with Greg over the past few years.” During this difficult time, I am keeping his family and loved ones in my thoughts. “Greg was an outstanding wholesaler who contributed so much to our industry as well as to Parfetts, where he was instrumental in building the business into the success it is today,

” said Mark Aylwin, chairman of Unitas. “Greg will be greatly missed by all of us at Parfetts,” said Aylwin. Everyone who knew Greg and worked in wholesale will mourn his passing very deeply. Here on this JustGiving page, which Suszczenia has created, you can contribute to The Brain Tumor Charity by giving monetary gifts.
