Hailey Brooks Obituary, 11-year-old killed in Raleigh Christmas Parade

Hailey Brooks Obituary, Death – The young woman who was unintentionally struck by a truck while participating in the Raleigh Christmas Parade has been named. Social media has seen a surge in messages of support for 11-year-old Hailey Brooks. She had worked with the CC & Company Dance Complex as a performer. The following statement was made public by her family:

“Our family is devastated by Hailey’s tragic loss and is in disbelief. She was always concerned about meeting the needs of those around her since she had a good and humble heart. Hailey’s compassion and generosity toward the younger kids who were in the march with her continued even in the dying hours of her life. We are very grateful for the community’s love and support, and we hope to soon share more about Hailey’s unique life. We are currently requesting that the media respect our family’s right to privacy while we mourn the loss of our beloved Hailey.

Candles, flowers, and sincere notes have been added to Brooks’ monument, which is always expanding. Numerous comments were made by people who had never even met the small girl. A woman who visited on Tuesday told ABC11 that even though she wasn’t at the parade on Saturday, the heartbreaking story nonetheless broke her heart. At the memorial, she prayed and left some flowers.

Yes, Valeria Reynoso said, “I just think out of respect for the family, since we were like here at that awful moment, that we can at least honor them in a way by either donating a flower or giving a candle.”

Parents received a letter from CC & Co. Dance advising them that anyone in need of therapy may get it.

“As we have made our way through the previous few days, our hearts are still devastated. Our CC & Co. family and the community’s prayers, love, and support are greatly appreciated “Part of the statement was read. “The CC & Co. Team genuinely cares about its students, and we are committed to maintaining a loving setting and a supportive community. Movement and dance are therapeutic and healing modalities. We hope that you will be able to join us in the healing process as we celebrate the life of this young dancer who blessed us in so many ways, as painful as it will be for us to return to classes at the studio with the tremendous loss in our hearts.”

According to police, the deadly collision occurred on Saturday morning at 10:15 near the intersection of Boylan Avenue and Hillsborough Street. The CC & Company Dance float’s driver claimed to have lost control of the truck. Dancers and parents scurried, but Brooks was struck and suffered injuries that ultimately led to her death. There were no other parade participants hurt.

Two women, according to a mother, helped save her daughters’ lives, ABC11 said. She claimed that on Saturday morning, they forced her daughters and scores of other kids out of the path of the erratic vehicle. The identities of those heroes are unknown.
