Hyacinth Johnson Obituary, Death – According to police, a 22-year-old family member murdered three female relatives in a gruesome triple murder last week inside a Queens home. On November 18, Hyacinth Brown-Johnson, the oldest victim, was discovered inside the home on 182nd Street in Springfield Gardens. The 65-year-mother old’s and stepmother were Latoya Gordon, 47, and Patrice Johnson, 26.

All three women were stabbed in the neck at the family’s home, according to police. According to police, the bodies were discovered by a home health aide who was assisting the youngest victim, who had cerebral palsy and was bedbound. It is still unknown what motivated the killings. According to a senior law enforcement official, the victims were identified after the suspected killer, Jabari Burrell, was apprehended hundreds of miles away on the side of the road, out of gas and covered in blood.

Burrell was apprehended by Virginia state police hours after allegedly stealing a minivan belonging to one of his victims and fleeing south in the middle of the night. According to the official, local authorities discovered him inside the vehicle off Interstate 95 in Prince George County. He was taken to a hospital for treatment after being injured and covered in blood. Meanwhile, homicide detectives from the New York Police Department traveled to Virginia to question the Queens man.

According to the official, when questioned by investigators, Burrell admitted to stabbing three women and described in detail how he attacked the victims. He was still in the process of being extradited back to New York City.
The attack appears to be domestic in nature, according to a senior law enforcement official familiar with the case, posing no further threat to the neighboring community.

The address had no known history of domestic violence, according to the official. All three women were thought to have lived in the three-unit house at the time of their deaths.Mayor Eric Adams went to the scene on Friday afternoon to speak with investigators and family members about what happened. Each victim’s cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner.
