- by Alex Danvers
Irene Muir Obituary, Death -Irene Muir passed away peacefully on November 16 at the Sussex Health Centre. Her family would like to express their heartfelt condolences to everyone. Irene Ingram was the daughter of the late Winthrop and Gladys (Harvey) Ingram, who died before she was born on June 6, 1942, in Windsor, Nova Scotia. Despite having only two children of her own, Irene was a caring foster parent to many children. When she was asked, she always said yes. They have cared for 45 children in foster care over the course of their existence. Irene cherished her family, her community, and her faith.
She was a dedicated social worker who assisted those in need in her community, and she always gave of herself to her family. She instilled in her children high moral and ethical standards, and she served as an excellent role model for being helpful, honest, and kind. In addition to her love of animals, she spent countless hours crocheting and knitting. Irene enjoyed baking and cooking, and she especially enjoyed showing off her culinary skills to visitors to her home.
Irene is survived by her loving husband, John Muir of Midland, New Brunswick; her sons, Dwayne Muir of Moncton, New Brunswick, and Dale Muir of Midland, New Brunswick; her grandchildren, Eric (Victoria) and Cory (Keagan); her great-grandchildren, Adelynn and Liam; and her brother, Austin Ingram (Diane McPherson) of Edmonton, Alberta. Her brothers, Kenneth and Alvin Ingram, as well as her sister, Celia White, predeceased her. Her parents were among those who had died before her. God’s promise that there will be a resurrection is a source of both comfort and hope for us. We can hardly wait to see her again!
The arrangements are being handled by Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre. They are located at 18 Scovil Road in Norton, New Brunswick, and can be reached at 839-2156. To honor Irene’s request, it was decided not to hold a service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider making a donation in Irene’s name to Easter Seals New Brunswick, a charity close to Irene’s heart, or to a charity of your choice.
