Joel Holladay Obituary, Death – I was able to spend one final moment with Joel Holladay because I was able to return for Thanksgiving to my hometown. For that, I will be eternally grateful to God. For the benefit of those who are unaware, my uncle was involved in a car accident many years ago that left him paralyzed from the waist down; however, this did not prevent him from living his life to the fullest. There was nothing that was beyond his capabilities. He was without a doubt the most determined, loving, and caring individual I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing.
Since Uncle Joel never had any children of his own, he placed a great deal of importance on the relationships he had with his nieces and nephews. Never once was he not present. His family was his number one concern. You were one of my best friends, and I’ll always miss your jokes, and no family function will ever be the same without you there to make everyone laugh. I’m so blessed that over the past few years we were able to develop the bond that we had and get closer than ever. Because I am the eldest grandchild, I have always considered myself extremely fortunate to have been able to grow up with my uncles and aunt. I will never forget all of the wonderful times and significant firsts that I had the opportunity to share with you.
It breaks my heart to think that my children of the future won’t have the opportunity to get to know you. Because none of us knew what it was like to be in your position, I made it a point to help make things simpler for you whenever I could, and if I had the chance, I would do it a million times over. Knowing that you are running around with your new legs in heaven and catching papa up on everything he’s been missing makes me feel at ease. You were Holladay’s greatest champion. I love you more than you loved your e-cigarette. I really mean that. You will not be forgotten under any circumstances. P.S. I really hope you had better luck in your final LRC match.
