Josephine obtained her certificate from the Convent of the Sacred Heart in 1953 after completing her education there. On June 14, 1958, she wed Bill Jackson and they went through with the ceremony.

1958 was the year when they tied the knot. They relocated to the farm in Easton not long after their wedding, and for the following 56 years of their lives together as a marriage, they were devoted parents and caretakers of their children. Josephine was a loving parent, grandmother, and great grandmother to all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a good caregiver for her family and pitched in to help out on the farm where they made their home. In addition to that, she worked as an election officer and was a substitute cook at the East Buchanan Elementary School.

She became a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church when she was a child and continued her membership throughout her life. In the end, she was promoted to the role of director of catechism. The Community Spirit Award was bestowed upon her as a token of recognition for the contributions that she has made to the community on behalf of Catholic Charities of Kansas City-St. Joseph. She worked hard, had a big heart, was an incredible cook, enjoyed playing cards, reading, and going to auctions, and she cherished the time she spent with her family. She was a wonderful person. In addition to that, she was an excellent auctioneer.

The following are Josephine’s children: Wilma Corkins (and her husband Fred), Bill Jackson (and his wife Sherri), Brenda Cantrell (and her husband Keith), and Deanna Schultz (and her husband Steve).
