Ken Valder Obituary, Initial Stockholder in Bevy has passed away

Ken Valder Obituary, Death – We are deeply saddened to inform you that Ken Valder has passed away. Ken was an extremely well-known personality among fans of the Albion. He attended home and away games for more than half a century and was named fan of the year in 2018 for his work as a volunteer on gamedays. In addition to this, Ken was very active in his community; he volunteered for Time to Talk Befriending and was one of the initial stockholders in Bevy. Our sympathies are with Ken’s family and friends at this difficult time.  Ken was a loyal Albion fan who was also known for his kindness and generosity. During this trying time, everyone at the club is keeping his family and all of his close friends in their thoughts and prayers.

Those who knew Ken Valder, who attended Westlain from 1967 to 1974, will be saddened to hear that he passed away yesterday after a long and courageous struggle against cancer. The news came through Ken’s family. Ken was widely known in the area, particularly for his unwavering support of Brighton & Hove Albion throughout his entire life. I had only seen Ken occasionally since we left Westlain, at our “1967 intake” reunions, and I’m sure there are others who knew him better than I did in recent years and who will be able to add their own memories of Ken, who will undoubtedly be greatly missed by those who were close to him.

Since we left Westlain, I had only met up with Ken occasionally at our “1967 intake” reunions. This is just one of the many touching tributes that have been paid to a member of our group, who went away suddenly yesterday night.
Sleep well, Ken Valder. RIP Ken. One of the most incredible human beings I have ever had the pleasure of getting to know over the course of many years. Following the Albion both at home and on the road brought numerous highs and lows for everyone involved. Ken was consistently present, upbeat, kind, and sympathetic in all interactions. Even though we were prepared for it, it did not make the experience any less difficult. During this difficult moment, my thoughts are with all of the Valder family.
