Ladd Lee Riether Obituary, Retired Deputy Ladd Riether has passed away

Ladd Lee Riether Obituary, Death – Honoring the Memories of Ladd Lee Riether with this Homage. A beloved family member has passed away, and with their departure, the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office has suffered the loss of another member of its close-knit family. Ladd Riether, a former deputy who had already retired, lost his long-running struggle with illness and passed away on Monday. He had been battling the illness for quite some time. Ladd began his employment with the Sheriff’s Office on August 27, 1972, when he was assigned to work in the Road Patrol Deputy position.

He has about forty years of service under his belt in this role. After holding that position until the day he retired on February 27, 1998, he was then elevated to the rank of Quartermaster, where he continued to work until the day he also retired. In addition to that, Ladd spent a great amount of time participating in the activities of the Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (R.A.C.E.S.) Ham Radio Club.

In addition to this, Ladd gave greyhounds that had been rescued a place to live that was warm, welcoming, and comfortable that they could call their own. Another one of his passions was military vehicles, and he even had one that he had restored and was going to local displays to show off to others. Because of the innumerable years of great and unselfish service that Ladd has provided to the people living in Eaton County, we owe him an enormous debt of appreciation.
