- by Alex Danvers
Leslie Turner Obituary, Death – On Tuesday, November 22, 2022, Leslie Wade Turner, who resided in Wickliffe, passed away while he was at his home. The cause of death was complications related to diabetes. In the year 1974, on May 29th, he came into this world in Paducah. In the capacity of crane operator, Wade served the Paducah-McCracken Riverport Authority for a period of time that exceeded twenty years. He was a true outdoorsman who liked nothing more than to go fishing and hunting in his spare time.
These pursuits brought him a great deal of happiness. Wade always gave the impression that he was an expert in everything that he did, whether it was his job or some other activity that he was interested in. This held true regardless of the subject matter. Wade was known for his tireless work ethic, but he also possessed a sensitive and compassionate side to his personality. He cherished Knockout roses, but above all else, he treasured his grandchildren and his one-of-a-kind dog, whom he referred to as “Bubbie.” His beliefs were consistent with those of the Baptists.
Wade is survived by his soul mate, Mitzi Morphew, who resides in Wickliffe; his mother Kay Helm and stepfather Wayne Helm, who reside in Metropolis; one brother, Curtis “Bro” Turner and his wife, Candy, who also reside in Wickliffe; stepbrother, Jason Helm, who resides in Metropolis; three grandchildren, Ryanne Cauble, Ella Lee, and Abel Abanatha; two nieces, Julia Helm and Jaida Carol Ann Turner, his sister, and his mother had preceded him in death. He did not outlive either of them. Butch Turner was the name of the man who raised him.
Visitation is scheduled to take place at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home in Wickliffe on the evening of November 25, 2022, beginning at five o’clock and continuing on until eight o’clock. This event is scheduled to take place on a Friday.
