Lisa Kilpatrick Obituary, Death – After a long and hard-fought battle against her illness, Lisa Lynette Kilpatrick, age 58, of Palatka, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, in the familiar surroundings of her own home. She had lived her whole life in Palatka, the city in which she had been born. Lisa, a devout follower of the Baptist religion who received her diploma from Palatka High School in 1982, was a member of this faith. She had a combined total of ten years of experience working in retail, nine of which were spent as a cashier at Publix and the remaining five at Dairy Queen.
Gardening and going on vacations to the beach were two of Lisa’s favorite things to do in her spare time. In addition, she was a member of the Woodmen of the World and specifically the Palatka Chapter #7. She particularly enjoyed getting together with her family at gatherings where food was grilled and they sat around a fire pit.
Her mother Jean Gornto, her father Sidney V. Gornto, her in-laws Earl L. and Glenese Moody, and her brother-in-law Roy Wynn all passed away before she did. Her husband also died before she did.
Her husband Dean Kilpatrick, who she was married to for 36 years, and her son Troy Kilpatrick, who also resides in Palatka, both survive her. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Paula Kilpatrick-Wynn of Palatka, her brother Sidney D. Gornto from Jones, Oklahoma, and her father-in-law Gerald Kilpatrick of Gastonia, North Carolina. Her brother Sidney D. Gornto is married to Crystal and lives in Jones, Oklahoma.
On November 30, 2022, at 2:00 o’clock in afternoon, the funeral services will be held at the Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka. Carlis Lott and Pastor Willie McKinnon are going to preside over the ceremony as the officiants. Following the conclusion of the service, the burial will take place at Oak Hill West Cemetery. On Wednesday, beginning at one o’clock in the afternoon and continuing until the start of the services, the family will be present at the funeral home to meet and greet friends of the deceased.
