Marilyn Kaye Bernath Obituary, Death – Marilyn Kaye Bernath, age 77, of Elsie, Michigan, passed away at Divine Life Assisted Living of Haslett West in Haslett, Michigan, in the early morning hours of Sunday, November 20, 2022. At the Smith Family Funeral Homes in Elsie, Michigan, there will be a Memorial Service held on the morning of Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 11:00 AM. The date and time of the event are still to be determined. Mr. Thomas J. Bradley will act as the ceremony’s host and preside over the event.
The final resting place for the deceased will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Elsie, Michigan, at a later date. Marilyn Moore was born on September 9, 1945 in the city of Ovid, Michigan. She was the daughter of John Wesley Moore and Leila Belle (Mead) Moore. Mead was her mother’s maiden name before she married. She graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School in St. Johns in 1963 to obtain her diploma after completing her secondary schooling there.
On July 31, 1965, Marilyn and John Martin Bernath exchanged vows of marriage in front of family and friends at St. Cyril’s Catholic Church in Bannister, Michigan. They were able to celebrate their fifty-two years of marriage together before to his passing on December 3, 2017, which was a privilege they had before he went away. The best part of the weekend for Marilyn was going to garage sales. Her dogs were her closest companions and went everywhere with her. She considered them to be her best pals.
Her favorite past times were playing with dolls, going out to restaurants, and collecting items for decorating the interior of her home. Marilyn always had a taste for sweets, so she made it a habit to share her sweet tooth by putting out a bowl of candies for people to enjoy. She is survived by her daughter Kimberly (Jerry) Kimball of Eagle, Michigan, and her son Bruce (Deb) Bernath of Nashville, Michigan. She also leaves behind her four grandchildren Melanie (Luke) Hemingway, Stephanie (Josh) Relyea, Gabrielle Bernath, and Danielle
Ten great-grandchildren Ethan, Jacob, Carter, Owen, Joy, Tiffany, Christian, Roman, Gideon, and Natalie; and her sister Her parents, her sister Janice Rademacher, and her husband John all passed away before she did.
