Michael Sexton obituary, Michael “Mick” Sexton has passed away unexpectedly

Michael Sexton obituary, Death – Michael “Mick” Sexton, who resided in Saint Louis, Missouri, and had reached the age of 77 at the time of his passing on November 15th, 2022, was a Tuesday. In the city of St. Louis, in the state of Missouri, on April 16, 1945, he was welcomed into the world by his parents, Clement and Julia Sexton (nee Burgoyne). Mick is survived by his children, Lisa (Jamey) Scherer and Shawn (Jessica) Sexton; granddaughters, Abby (Jeff) Johns, Kearsten Sexton, Emily Scherer, Riley Scherer, and Clara Sexton; as well as a great number of extended family members and friends. Mick passed away on February 1, 2019. The passing of Mick occurred on February 1, 2019.

His sister Joan, his brother Daniel Tenbarge, and his parents Clement and Julia Sexton all went away before he did. His brother Daniel Tenbarge was also preceded in death by his sister Joan. Mick, a painter who worked in both residential and commercial settings, was proud to be a member of Union 1199 throughout the nearly 40 years that he spent in that profession. It was in acknowledgment of his dedication and talent as a painter that the City of St. Louis established “Michael Sexton Day,” which was celebrated yearly on his birthday, April 16th. This day was named in his honor by the City of St. Louis. This is the day that actually marks his birthday.

Additionally, he felt a great deal of pride in his Irish ancestry, and not too long ago, he was given the opportunity to travel to Ireland. In addition to that, Mick had a deep-seated enthusiasm for motorcycles, and one of his absolute favorite things to do was to take his Harley out for extended drives. Although he was admired by many for his quick wit, sense of humor, and fun-loving manner, the time that he was able to spend with his adored grandkids was what brought him the most joy. He was loved and cherished by his grandchildren. Because he was so widely liked and respected, Mick will be greatly missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know him.
