Mike Vince Obituary, Death – Our Chambers Director, Mike “Vince” Plant, passed away unexpectedly and suddenly, and we are ecstatic to be able to share the news of his passing with you at this time. We are saddened beyond words to say goodbye to him. Vince was not only a wonderful friend and coworker, but he also did an excellent job managing the Clerks’ Room. Because he brought compassion and humanity to all of his decisions and interactions with other people, he served as an excellent model for how to manage people. This made him an excellent example of how to manage people. Because he was so devoted to his family, we would like to convey to his wife, Jen, and to his three children our most sincere condolences and regrets on their loss. He was a man who put his family first in everything he did.
Vince started working at Fountain Court Chambers as soon as he graduated from high school, and he eventually worked his way up through the ranks to become the Deputy Senior Clerk. He made the most of his innate skills and put in an incredible amount of effort to become the most well-rounded clerk that was even remotely possible during his time there. People who were senior on Fountain Court at the time remember him as “not just a fantastic clerk; he was a lovely human being.” Vince was promoted to the position of Head of Clerking Services at Devereux in 2010, and after working there for three years, he was given the role of Chambers Director.
His leadership over the past ten years has resulted in a transformation that has resulted in Chambers winning multiple awards, building its reputation in its existing fields of expertise, and adding a substantial new team of tax practitioners to further enhance its offering to clients. All of these achievements have been accomplished as a direct result of the transformation. The transformation that has taken place is directly responsible for all of these events that have taken place as a direct result of the transformation. Vince was celebrating yet another honor just a few days before the tragic event that led to his passing. These honors included being named barrister of the year and receiving silk.
It is surprising to see how much effort Vince put into mentoring and supporting more junior members of Chambers and staff. As a direct consequence of this, a large number of the Temple’s successful clerks can directly attribute their achievements to the patient guidance that Vince offered. The sincere tributes that attorneys and other members of the Bar have already paid to Vince have left us feeling incredibly moved. We are grateful to everyone who has participated in paying these tributes. In order to make these items available to his family, Andrew Burns KC will be in charge of collecting them, in addition to any additional contributions that may be made.
