Nan Gates Obituary, Death – On Tuesday, November 22, 2022, Nan Gates, who was 73 years old and a resident of Poteau, Oklahoma, passed away while she was at her residence.
On the evening of Monday, November 28, 2022, at the Bishop Chapel of Memories, family members will be present to meet and greet guests from the hours of five o’clock until seven o’clock.
At the funeral service that will be held at the Bishop Chapel of Memories on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., Chaplain J.T. Carnell will serve as the officiant. Following the conclusion of the service, the burial will take place at Blanco Cemetery.
At the funeral service, Tyler Corder, Taylor Corder, Tanner Corder, Easton Corder, Ed Stanton, and John Whetzel will serve as the pallbearers.
On April 25, 1949, Nan was brought into the world by her parents, W.H. Stanton, Jr. and Nota Lee (Bates) Stanton. McAlester was the location of her birth. She graduated from McAlester High School in 1967 and received her diploma there, where she completed all of her high school studies. On November 11th, 1968, Nan Corder gave birth to her son William Wesley Corder. William Wesley Corder was born on that day.
She wed Ronald Gates on the 20th of May in 1980 in McAlester. The ceremony took place.
Despite the fact that she was working full-time as a homemaker at the time, Nan managed to earn her certification as a Registered Phlebotomy Technician in 1996. While Nan and Ron were selling their leather goods, they also enjoyed riding motorcycles together and going on road trips. The band that Nan and Ron formed was called Country Night, and both Nan and Ron were active members of the band. Nan was one of those people who could reliably make you laugh out loud whenever you wanted or needed it.
She is survived by her great-grandsons Easton Corder, Brock Corder, Hunter Corder, and Cole Bicknell; her nephew Ed Stanton and wife Leann of Blanchard; her great-nephew Blake Stanton; her great-niece Abby Larue; and her daughter-in-law Deborah Corder of McAlester.
