Nancy Clayton Obituary, Death – On November 17, 2022, in Amory, Mississippi, at the North Mississippi Medical Center – Gilmore, Nancy Carolyn Clayton passed away at the age of 69. Her parents, Hershel and Metrie Jones Presley, both passed away before she was born on July 23, 1953. The first born of her family’s total of 14 children was Nancy. She was a remarkable wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend. She also had two grandmothers and one great grandmother. She was well-liked and had many friends. Everyone she met fell head over heels in love with her.
When they went camping, Nancy and her husband enjoyed spending time fishing together. She had been married to Jerald Clayton, Sr. for 47 years at the time of his death, and she was the object of his undying affection. She was always stirring up trouble with her husband and her son, Jerald Clayton Jr., especially when they were together. She was required to watch professional wrestling on television on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. She would scream at the wrestlers and have a conversation with the television at the same time. Yard sales were a fun activity for Nancy, her sisters, and their mother to participate in.
She will be sorely missed by everyone. The news of her passing has left us all with broken hearts. They are aware that she is with her husband in heaven, where they will remain together for all of eternity. Nancy, I look forward to our next encounter. Her survivors include her sons Jerald W. Clayton, Jr. and Scotty Delane Clayton, both of Nettleton; her grandchildren Jerald Clayton (Jessica), Nettleton, Maggie McNeese (Jeremiah), Amory, and Danny Clayton (Tamra), Troy; her eight great-grandchildren Hadley, Carter, Maddox, Finnley, Kaia, Paxton, Xavier, and Elijah; her sisters Betty Jerald Clayton, A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at The Professors of Jesus Name Community Church in Nettleton, Mississippi on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at one o’clock in the afternoon. Bro. Eddie Clayton will preside over the event.
The following people have volunteered to serve as pallbearers: Steven Clayton, Nathan Clayton, Timothy Clayton, Steven Johnson, Jerald Clayton, and Danny Clayton. The funeral and burial services will take place at Jones Chapel Cemetery in Nettleton, Mississippi. Daniel Presley, BJ Presley, Albert Young, Randy Presley, Matthew Clayton, Ben Clayton, Eli Clayton, Derick Hefner, Nick Kent, Darrell Cooper, Darren Cooper, and Dallas Presley will serve as honorary bearers of the casket during the funeral service.
On Saturday, the Nettleton United Methodist Church will welcome loved ones and friends for visitation beginning at six o’clock in the evening.
