Patrick Gibbs Obituary, Danville man died in Rockingham County fatal crash

Patrick Gibbs Obituary, Death – This week, two people have tragically passed away as a result of separate car accidents that took place in the county of Rockingham. Both of these accidents took place this week. Patrick Gibbs Jr., a driver from Danville, was traveling south along the 2100 block of Freeway Drive in Reidsville on Monday, March 21, at about 3:21 p.m. when he drove his 2002 Dodge Ram pickup truck across the grassy median and collided head-on with another vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle did not sustain any injuries in the collision.

Mark Ramey, a resident of Eden, was driving a 2008 Lincoln Mark LT in the direction of the northbound traffic while also transporting passengers in the vehicle. On Tuesday, it was not possible to obtain information regarding the total number of passengers. According to the authorities, Gibbs passed away instantly as a result of the impact, and Ramey and the other passengers in his vehicle sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision as well.

On Monday afternoon, a medical crew arrived on Freeway Drive in a helicopter with the intention of transporting one of the injured patients to a hospital in the immediate area. As a direct consequence of this, Freeway Drive had to be closed to traffic for well over an hour while this process was carried out. The authorities claim that two additional injured passengers were transported to a nearby hospital by an ambulance so that they could receive medical treatment. Officials have stated that investigations into the accident are being carried out by both the Reidsville Police Department and the State Highway Patrol.
