Peter Mangelsdorf Obituary, Loxton Christmas Wonderland founder Peter Mangelsdorf has died

Peter Mangelsdorf Obituary, death –  A Christmas committee that has been operating in LOXTON for the past 30 years has reached a significant milestone this year, and preparations are presently under way to celebrate this memorable occasion. The head of the Loxton Christmas Lights Committee, Peter Mangelsdorf, expressed his hope that the significant milestone would make it feasible for the community to come together once more. “we hope that we can have a meet together of the past 30 years of committee members and painters,” he had been quoted as saying previously. In addition, the organization plans to celebrate the anniversary by putting fresh new spectacular lighting adjacent to the rotunda as well as the trees that line the main street.

Peter Mangelsdorf and Doug and Heather Falland were the ones who first built Christmas Wonderland and Santa’s Walk in the late 1970s and early 1980s, respectively. As a direct consequence of this, the Loxton council decided to form the committee not long after. Mr. Mangelsdorf and Connie Kelly, who currently serves as the vice chairperson and assistant secretary of the committee, are the only founder members of the committee that are still active. Mrs. Kelly related her experience as follows: “I was asked if I would come and take the minutes, and I said, ‘Okay, but that is all I am doing.’ and here I am thirty years later.” Connie Dziwoki, who lives in Loxton, was recently invited to join the team by the committee in order to serve in the capacity of secretary.

According to Mr. Mangelsdorf, the fact that Connie is the proprietor of her own tourism company means that she will provide an abundance of information to the committee because of her participation in the organization. During this time, Mr. Mangelsdorf stated that the former committee secretary Pat West, who had retired from the committee the previous year and passed away last month, would be a “major” loss. West had retired from the committee the previous year and had passed away last month. “We need four folks to take over what she did,” he reportedly stated earlier. “Pat had a significant impact on our committee, and the recognition that Loxton received for winning three South Australian Tourism Awards in 2006, 2007, and 2009, in addition to a numerous other accolades, is due entirely to her.” [Citation needed]
