Russell Sykes Obituary, Death – Russell M. Sykes, who was 94 years old at the time of his death on November 3, 2022 in Newport, Vermont, passed away. He called the town of Derby Line in Vermont his home. On September 8th, 1928, he was born in Holland, Vermont to his parents, the late Roger Sykes and Eula (Flynn) Sykes. Both of his parents have now passed away. Before leaving the military, Russell did his time in the Army of the United States of America. In a past life, he worked as a driver of large construction equipment. He was an authority in a wide range of industries as well as pastimes, including riding snowmobiles and working in the woods.

He is survived by his sons Robert Sykes of West Charleston and Jason Sykes of Springfield, MA, his brother Brian Sykes and his wife Caroline of Derby, his sister Hazel Pillio and her husband Rocky of Concord, NH, as well as a large number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, his close niece Betsy McDonald of Derby Line, and companion Joceyln Davio of Derby.
