Shuna Lewis Obituary, Death – After hearing the news that our dear friend and coworker, Shuna Lewis, passed away unexpectedly last Friday as a result of a medical condition, we are in a state of complete and utter disbelief. We recently presented Shuna with a commendation in the form of an award in order to recognize the fact that she has spent the past 15 years working as a special education teacher at Lighthouse School, where she has helped countless students and their families. Her students, as well as the families of her students, along with each and every one of her friends and coworkers on our staff, truly cherished her.

Her students also adored her as did the families of her students. The children and families who were a part of the Lighthouse community all have a portion of their lives that will never be the same because of the impact that Shuna had on them as a result of her knowledge and the compassionate nature that she possessed. In everything that she did, she was a shining example of love and the spirit of community. The passing of Shuna will cause a significant void in our community because she exemplified the kind of exceptional educator that we should all work hard to become when we are older.

During this difficult time, the people who live in Lighthouse are keeping her and her family in their thoughts and are offering their support to them. A significant number of you have reached out to us to inquire about the different ways in which you can lend your support to her family as they navigate through this difficult time.
