Swetha Donepudi Obituary, Death – Bishop Guertin High School was left in a state of mourning after learning of Swetha Donepudi’s passing in the year 2020. On Thursday, November 24, Swetha died away in the wee hours of the morning. Swetha, a devoted and committed member of the BG community, was the recipient of the Cornerstone Honor for the Class of 2020. This award is one for which she genuinely embodied all of the standards, and as a result, she was selected as the winner. During her time as a student at this institution, she was actively involved in a wide variety of organizations and activities.
She served as the team captain for the swimming team, was a member of the Student Ambassadors, the National Honor Society, and Campus Ministry, and she was also the founder of the Red Cross Club. Swetha went above and beyond in every aspect, continually inquiring as to what else might be done, identifying any “gaps” in the process, and addressing those issues before even being asked to do so. The most essential thing about her was that she was a terrific friend. She was someone who cared about other people and took the time to listen to what they had to say, and because of this, she lit up every room she entered.
At the time, Swetha was a student at Smith College, where she was working on a degree in Biomedical Engineering. She had just recently learned that she had been accepted into a Ph.D. program. One of the brightest lights in the globe and someone who would have continued to make a positive effect in the world has passed away. During this difficult time, we ask that you join us in praying for her family, particularly her sister Sindhu ’17, as they cope with the loss of their loved one.
