Tom Pelkey Obituary, Death – Tom Pelkey was a patient at Baystate Medical Center when he passed away during his stay there. He was born on January 17 in Hampton, Virginia, and his parents were the late Louis D. Pelkey and Charlene A. Dawley. He was known as Louis D. Pelkey Jr. He received his education in Pittsfield, and in 1984 he received his diploma from Taconic High School. After that, he enrolled at Berkshire Community College and completed his studies there in 1988 to earn an associate’s degree in criminal justice.

When he passed away, Mr. Pelkey was working for Specialized Carrier in Springfield, where he had been employed for the prior six years as a beer distributor. He had been with the company for the duration of his employment. He had been an employee of the company throughout its entirety. After running a Thomas English Muffin franchise for the prior five years, he began his professional life by working for Wonder Bread for ten years. Prior to that, he had spent the preceding five years as the owner and operator of a Thomas English Muffin franchise.

When Mr. Pelkey was a resident of Pittsfield, he worked as a Corrections Officer for the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Department at the Berkshire County House of Correction on Second Street. This occurred during the period in which the facility could be found at the current location. He was a passionate sailor and traveled extensively, spending a lot of time in Maine and Cape Cod. In addition to that, he was a fan of the New York Giants and the Boston Red Sox baseball teams.

He is survived by a brother, Michael J. Pelkey and his wife, Tammy, of Cohoes, NewYork; his stepfather, Daniel E. Irish and his wife, Pam, of Pittsfield; and former wife, Kathleen A. Quinn of Pittsfield; as well as a niece, Bryanna Pelkey, a nephew, Zachery Pelkey, and two cousins. In addition to his father and his father’s wife, Elmeta, who both reside in Monroe Before Mr. Pelkey was born, both of his grandparents on his mother’s side, Adaline and Charles Dawley, as well as his grandfather on his father’s side, Louis D. Pelkey, Sr., had already passed away.
