Trisha Karnik Obituary, Death – Trisha Karnik, who was 94 years old and had lived in Cheyenne County for a significant amount of time, passed away early on Sunday morning at the Sidney Regional Medical Center, Extended Care in Sidney. Trisha, who was to become the daughter of Anton and Matilda Tresnak, was born in Dodge, Nebraska, on June 7th, 1919. Her devoted husband Allen passed away in 2010, and she was also predeceased by two brothers and two sisters: Joe Tresnak, Fr. Anthony Tresnak, Emily Sladovnik, and Betty Emanuel. Allen passed away in 2010.
On February 5, 1940, she wed Allen Karnik, who was the son of Dr. Jerome and Rosalie Karnik. The wedding took place in Dodge. In the 1940s, they made the move to a farm located to the north of Potter. In 1951, the family made the move to Sidney, where Rose Marie found employment as a legal secretary and also worked in the office of Egging Cab Company. She was involved in numerous organizations, including the Catholic Daughters of America, Royal Neighbors, and the Sidney Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed activities such as golf, bridge, dancing, and going on vacation. They had a home in Mesa, Arizona, where they spent the winters, and it served as a gathering place for all of their friends.
She is survived by one son, Gary Karnik and his wife Kathy of Fort Collins, one daughter, Judy Paulson and her husband, Clayton, of Clovis, California, four grandchildren, Todd Karnik of Denver, Lisa Anderson of Topeka, Lori Henne of Scottsdale, and Trisha Peterson of Coalinga, California, and 11 great-grandchildren. She is laid to rest in Clovis Memorial Park in Clovis, Calif., with military honors. Her granddaughter, Kristin King, as well as her two sons who passed away while still infants, came before her in death. The Holechek Funeral Home and Cremations located in Sidney is assisting the Karnik family during this difficult time.
