Wilko Johnson Obituary, Wilko Johnson Has Sadly Passed Away
- by Alex Danvers
Wilko Johnson Obituary, Death – In the late 1970s, Wilko Johnson was seen performing at the Grafton, of all places, when he should have been elsewhere. This was despite the fact that he was supposed to be somewhere else. This was a blatant disregard for the terms and conditions of his contract. Following the heartbreaking news that Wilko had passed away, I have been overcome with a profound sense of loss. I’m going to sorely miss having him around.
When I was around 16 years old is when I first started getting into the fandom, and ever since then, I’ve continued to be one of the biggest fans there is. Ever since I can remember, I’ve been a devoted follower of your work. Not only did I have the good fortune to watch him perform live with Dr. Feelgood at the Stadium in the 1970s, but I also witnessed their show at the Liverpool Empire. In addition, I was a customer at both Eric’s and the Grafton, where he played with his own band and I was able to observe the performance.
Both of these locations played host to his performances at various points throughout the course of his career. After his performance at the Hofbrauhaus in the early 1980s, we had a few drinks together, and then after the show was over, we continued our conversation in a very in-depth manner. The man was the epitome of a true gentleman, and in addition to being a brilliant entertainer, he also possessed a very distinctive guitar playing style that a large number of people admired.
The man was a brilliant entertainer, and in addition to that, he possessed a very distinctive guitar playing style. The man was also a very talented performer in his own right. In a tragic turn of events, he passed away from his illness not too much longer after that. His performances were able to attract a sizeable audience wherever they were presented, despite the fact that the location of the venue was regarded as being unimportant. I was loading up my car at the Grafton while it was still open, and the following is a selection of photographs that I took during that time. Sincerely, I wish for you to have a wonderful time making use of them. RIP Wilko.
